Kambri is reading from "Love, Daddy" on June 4, 2007 at 8:00 PM

Here's the sales pitch from the producer:

That's right! Andy Borowitz--creator of the Borowitz Report, regular commentator on VH1, CNN and NPR, monthly headliner at Caroline's, regular host of The Moth and the co-creator of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air--is our very special guest at The PIT Presents the Pendulum this coming Monday, June 4th, at 8 P.M.!

But that's not all! We've managed to fool a whole cast of extremely talented people into mistakenly believing appearing on our show will be a boost to their careers, including:

Andy Borowitz
Kambri Crews
Adam Wade
Eric Andre
Sara Benincasa

Plus an actual commercial from our show's very first sponsor! Oh, we have misled so, so many people about the popularity of our show.

CHALK - A Faux Doc Comedy

CHALK is a faux-doc comedy shot in the style of The Office about the public education system. It was created and filmed in Austin by a couple of former high school teachers (Mike Akel and Chris Mass), and has been picked up by Morgan Spurlock (SuperSize Me and 30 Days), and is being released nationwide this summer. It's received multiple awards, including an Independent Spirit Award nomination (the John Cassavetes Award). They also won the Austin Film Festival both Jury and Audience Awards this year, among other festivals.

It opened in LA very recently -- and so far all good reviews from the LA Times, LA Weekly and others -- and will be opening in NYC at the Sunshine Cinema (on Houston) on June 8th. "Texans in the City" play 3 of the 4 leads -- including myself. It's a small independent film - so they are depending a LOT on word-of-mouth. They especially would love for teachers to see this -- a portion of the proceeds will be donated to a national organization that supports teachers: Teachers Count (teacherscount.org).

Hey gorgeous people...

I hope this finds everyone doing well and enjoying the heck out of Spring...

So although it seems like I've fallen off the face of the earth, I've really only fallen into a charming little playhouse up in Nyack where I'm in a show.

I'm playing Kippy in "Take Me Out" up at the Elmwood Playhouse in Nyack, NY (just across the Tappan Zee Bridge from Tarrytown). It's been an incredible experience to be a part of yet another of my favorite pieces of theatre. Everyday, I feel so lucky to be working on this production as I think it is such a brilliantly written play and has so much to say.

If you could make it up to see it, that would be fun and I would love it but if not, no worries. There will be many, many more.

In the meantime, I'd love to hear how you're doing as well so let me know what's up...take care and I can't wait to hear from you!

Me On the Tee Vee

Our high tech, cutting edge, late night, interactive, online talk show "Late Net with Ray Ellin" debuted at Comix last night and was profiled on NY1. I had a quick quote on camera and a bunch of people emailed to say they saw it...who knew NY1 had so many fans! I can't get the video to play but here's the article with the video link.
